Ellen M. (Bitler) Sowers

Ellen M. (Bitler) Sowers, 90, formerly of Exeter Twp., PA passed away on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Amity Place in Douglassville. She was born in Robeson Twp., the daughter of the late Benjamin A. and the late Lottie (Griffith) Bitler. She was the widow of Charles F. “TaTa” Sowers.

Ellen was a clerical worker for the former Birdsboro Steel Corp. and later worked for Wal-Mart in Exeter Twp. until retirement. She loved traveling and camping everywhere with her late daughter, Cindy. Ellen was a member of St. Paul’s UCC in Birdsboro.

Surviving Ellen, is her sister: Barbara Koepfinger and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son: Michael Sowers; daughter: Cynthia Sowers; brothers: Henry and Robert Bitler; and her sister: Vivian Demenza.

A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 11:00AM at Berks County Memorial Gardens, 201 Evansville Rd. (Rt. 222) Fleetwood, PA 19522.
