Allen Raymond Ford

Allen Raymond Ford, born August 22, 1944 in Montclair, New Jersey, died unexpectedly at home on March 23, 2025. He leaves behind his wife of 40 years, Patti Docker-Ford, of Morgantown, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by his daughter, Amy Ford, 39, her husband, Phillip Schlosberg, and their son, Raymond, 2 of Indianapolis, Indiana. He is also survived by his sister, Virginia (Ford) Parry of West Chester and nieces Halloran Parry of Alameda, California and Christine Parry of Watertown, Massachusetts.

Allen was the son of the late Raymond W. Ford and Eleanor Becker Ford of Kutztown.

He was a 1962 graduate of Kutztown Area High School and was a fixture in the greater Berks County area. He ran several businesses, was a founder of Upper Berks County Grain Company, and owned Third Millennium Screen Company, a tee-shirt design and printing company.

Allen had many friends and had a gregarious personality. Some of his hobbies included painting and drawing, spending time outside, and playing chess. He was a Universal Life Church officiant and performed weddings for many friends throughout the years. He was an avid reader and easily absorbed information, was curious about the world and paid attention to the news and politics.

A loving father, he took great delight in raising his daughter. Amy recalled many excursions with her dad to parks, lakes, and visiting her grandfather. They also enjoyed playing cards, figure drawing, and going for walks outside. He was a proud grandparent to his young grandson.

“I will always remember his giant smile,” said a longtime friend. Others recalled an assortment of often hilarious events.

A memorial service will follow in May.

Funeral arrangements were made with Dengler-Sowers Funeral Home & Crematory, LLC. in Birdsboro, PA.
